
HANOI, April 3 (Engineering Daily) -- Korean-based Samkwang Co., Ltd. and Saigon-Bac Giang Industrial Park JSC (a member company of KBC Group) signed a memorandum of understanding about renting land in Quang Chau Industrial Park to develop a $150-million hi-tech factory.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, chairman and CEO of Samkwang Co., Ltd. Kim Jin Woo said that this is Samkwang’s largest-scale project in a foreign market.
Samkwang plans to pour $150 million into the 100,000-square-metre project’s first phase, and $250 million into the next phases. The project, which is expected to create 3,000 jobs, will supply electronic parts to mobile phone maker Samsung Vietnam.
