(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = A new bridge has been constructed on the Saai Gon River, which runs across Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

According to local sources on Tuesday, the Binh Loi Bridge across the Ho Chi Minh Sai Gon River has been opened.

Construction of the newly opened Binh Loi Bridge began in May 2016 and a total of $56.1 million was spent on the project.

The 1.3-kilometer-long bridge is made available for 100 km/h trains, and has also been raised to allow ships of 1 ton or higher to pass under the bridge.

Ho Chi Minh City expects the opening of the bridge to serve as a stepping stone for expanding industrial logistics infrastructure along with expanding railway and water logistics volume in nearby areas.
